I'm looking for interesting, fun ways of exercising that aren't going to be too challenging for me - specifically things that don't involve high speed physical multi tasking and coordination or flexibility (I've always been bad at things that require hand eye and quick thought, coordination, and due to constant physical tension I've never had high flexibility).

I like running, I want to take up uncomplicated strength training, but I want something fun and engaging, especially something that would help me build up my flexibility to something less like a board.

Any suggestions?

Try hiking/trail running. You can use some light weights, or even a weight vest.

There's not much in the way of challenging trails here. It's a desert. The only trails are at the parks, and they're all flat. There is a "mountain" (hill) nearby so I guess that could work.

Sorry wasn't sure where you lived. Any sporting goods store has weight vests. Also ankle weights, wrist weights, this little weighted bags you take out and can add as needed. The vests usually go to 40 or 50lbs, n the wrists/ankles like 10-15 per limb. Walmart usually has stuff like that too.

Running in sand is challenging in and of itself though too. I'd imagine way more so with weight. Even if it's only a very little.

What about any sports? Usually a game gets people more into more stressful exercise without knowing it. You don't even have to be any good. Tennis? Basketball? It's good exercise. Even if it's not at all your thing.

Just spitballing though.

I like casual basketball but I have um... survival instincts lol. When something comee flying at me at high speed my immediate response is to throw myself to the ground or to the side lol.

Hm. Yeah. Sports no good then... yeah? Just an idea.

Maybe like a class of some kind like kickboxing or something?

I am joining her question too please.

I tried TRX but it's kinda got repetitive very quickly....

I used to run in town but the road is bad for the legs not healthy so that caused me to just stop hence why I don't like running on asphalt whatsoever.

I do have a horizontal bar on which I'm doing pull ups, also doing push ups on the floor. I kinda am looking to expand... Used to lift weights for years at the gym but got tired of it - I should really find friends to excersize with since none of my friends are into doing that stuff with me...

I *would* like to maybe play ball games but my data ain't very good. I'm 100% incompetent in football even as goalkeeper, I don't know technique well enough for the game to be fun for me...

I'm not tall enough for basketball although it's with friends so it would be really cool. So many years since I used to play. What I do fear though is other people at the court, if there are strangers there.... when I was a kid up until middle school I absolutely loved going out playing basketball and yes even football with friends outside but since the history of bullying has worn down my confidence when it comes to sports. It's better now after like 10 years obviously, but I'm on the same spot as a driver that hasn't been in a car for 20-30 years. so ye, still quite a bit anxious...

You might think you need to be coordinated to do Zumba but it's all about having fun and moving and not about getting it right so I highly recommend it. So much fun, you don't even realise you're exercising.

If you're looking for a something different. You must try Prisoner Get Ups. This is the exercise that fires up your whole core while activating the entire chain of muscles in your back. But be careful because it completely depends on your balance and agility.
