Music jams or Open mics
I my 20's I used to go to Coffee House Open mics.
These days I like circle jams.
Music genres I feel comfortable are: blues, 50-60's rock and pop, country, and gospel.
At our jams pros to beginners show. There are low keyed and more demanding groups.
I'm thinking of checking out Drum Circles.
A friend is in beginning think process of building Mouth Bows for us.
Stay tuned.

Still too old to know it all
I recently got back into these. A few years ago I had two fortnightly ones that I would frequent - one was an open mic and the other was an acoustic circle jam, so I got a nice mix of both. I had to stop going when I moved further away though.
I recently found a couple of much more local open mics though. I actually have ended up joining a band from meeting some people there too which is good! There are lots of other regulars there too who now know me and who I can chat guitars with. Something to look forwards to every couple of weeks!
