Why are there so many counting games on Off the Wall? Mor than half of the games are counting games.

Also, there are a lot of A-Zs.

Good question. One counting thread seems like more than enough to me. But we have zillions going on simultaneously. Each as brain-dead as the others.

Sometimes folks give it an interesting spin. Like a couple years ago you had a thread in which you had to post actual photographs that contain that next number: like someone would post a newspaper headline screaming "69 feared dead", and the next person would post a snapshot of the "route 70" highway sign, and the next the 71 on a building addess, and so on. That went to well above 2000. But none of the current ones are anything like that creative.

The counting threads provide an outlet for OCD and numerical stim tendencies. I spend all day counting in my head, it rarely stops. The threads are just a reflection of this behaviourism.

There are so many of them, that they need their own subforum in Off the Wall.

That sounds like a lot of fun. I wouldn't normally join a counting thread, but if it was doing something like that, I would be very interested in playing.
