I am a new user of this website so sorry if I don’t follow any normal cues with posting replies.
Whether or not both people in a relationship have Aspergers does not come into it; if two people like each other the Aspergers does not matter.

Why not - worth giving it a shot I'd think.

:D

Go for it.

None of it matters if two people click, so don't close yourself off.

I don't think it's the relationship that is the issue here, as it's more about what's gonna happen to the kids(if they decide to have them?). The kids could end up with server autism issues.

It's working very well for me, my partner isn't diagnosed but scored "very likely neurodiverse" on the Aspie Quiz, and she's thought she has ASD for some time.

No problems with having kids, as we're too old for that now, but even if we weren't, I think we'd be pretty good at equipping an Aspie child or two for the cruel world. I certainly wouldn't want to choose a NT just to reduce the chances of producing Aspie kids. My partner has a couple of kids in their 20s from a previous marriage, they both have autistic characteristics, one is doing very well, the other is still dependent, which is rather a thorn in our flesh, but there's been a lot of progress.

I think most of my relationships have been with unusual partners, some of whom had Aspie traits, and every relationship I was in before this current one failed. But I'm pretty sure my first serious relationship was with a neurotypical, and a big part of the problem was the clash of NT-AS perspectives.

But it's impossible to draw any black-and-white conclusions about whether AS-AS beats NT-AS or not. A lot depends on personality, degree of maturity, wisdom, compatibility, shared values and interests, and all kinds of external circumstances.

Go for it mate. She will understand what you're going through more than the average NT.

Awesome Idea because it would be easier to understand each other's struggles related to autism. However, there still would be issues depending on the degree of autistic traits and how issues are handled individually for each person. My ex boyfriend had aspie traits and was possibly one himself. But he was diagnosed with ADHD. So either way find someone that relates to you. For me, I would love to find a man who relates to me on that level.
