Apparently George H.W. Bush would like to see Jeb elected President in 2008. Jeb hasn't expressed any intrest though. Too bad, he'd probably make a decent President. Maybe John McCain will run instead.

Sean,

What do you think of the current rumor that McCain is setting himself up to run as an independent?

If we citizens of the USA are stupid enough to vote Jeb Bush into office, then we deserve what we get fully.

I'm concerned about the possibility of McCain running as an independent. That would dilute the conservative voters which will likely be the majority in the next election. The Democrats are out of touch with mainstream society and this was proven last election when Bush won the Eectoral vote and had 51% of the popular vote despite only having a 41% job approval rating at the time. That could likely create a situation where you could end up with a liberal President in office when the majority of the people want a conservative. In such a situation, the President would likely be nominated starting out with an extremely low job approval rating and a public that wants their Congressmen to fight the new President's policies. This is currently a problem in California where there is a large concentration of out of touch liberals who voted out of touch liberals into the State Legislature and then elected a charismatic Republican for Governor and they rarely agree on anything so they send a disproportionate amount of legislation to be decided by the voters by ballot initiative. It basically defeats the point of having a Legislative branch of the State governmnent. Something like this happening at the Federal level would probably be worse thant the Republican controlled Congress fighting with the Clinton Administration in the late '90s. Jeb Bush, John McCain, John Ashcroft, and maybe Tommy Franks would probably make good Presidents, but they need to use the combination of stability and accountability that the 2-party system provides.

The Republicans wouldn't want McCain. He's not conservative enough for them. If another Bush is elected then I'd... I actually can't even imagine what I'd do.

I just hope President Bush's policies are vindicated by history. He has spent 50% of the public's approval on that prospect in the hope of implementing long-term solutions for national security and fiscal solevency.

Oh, no!! !! Not another son of a......Bush! I can't take his idiosyncratic idiocy!

At least I will get to take my leave of this country for a month on July 3rd(I'm going to a special summer camp in Canada called Camp Kodiak) and then I shall be free of his wretched reign!

Gee, I'm in an alliterative mood tonight, aren't I?

Honestly, minors should be allowed to vote as well! Then, I could vote against Mr. Oh- What- fun- it- is- to- rule- the- world! Sigh.... only 4 more years till I can vote.
