I've mentioned several times that I have and have bred poison dart frogs. I thought I'd share some images here of the frogs that I have, and have had in the past. Poison dart frogs are not poisonous in captivity since they don't make their poison themselves - they "manufacture" it from the venom of a variety of stinging insects and other invertebrates that they eat. They only get to about three inches long, and there are about 175 species. I currently have eight frogs from three different species, but I've also had several others which have passed away and froglets that I've sold.

Right now I have three Dendrobates auratus (Panamanian Green & Bronze morph), three Dendrobates tinctorius (Azureus morph), and two Phyllobates terribilis (Yellow morph). I'll post some images for now but I'll continue to share some more whenever the frogs do something interesting.

Amazing!

It's amazing, also, that they were able to discern 175 separate species of this particular amphibian.
