Can the NX take 3DS games?

Alright, I'm kinda confused. Pokemon Sun and Moon are coming out on the 3DS, in November, and the NX is comming out next month. Why would they still be doing 3DS games if they don't work in the NX? I hope that the NX is just non-movable, or it can take 3DS games. Mom said that she'll get me a new DS or the NX if I can make up my mind before Christmas, so next month I'll think of something. But does anybody know if it's a non-movable console or a handheld? And does it take 3DS games?

Next month!? As far as I know the NX is now expected for March 2017; at least that's what Nintendo said at the last E3.

Like they said, it's coming out in March of 2017. Nothing is really known about it at this point, they still haven't talked about it yet and there are less than 6 months left to go.
