I am currently teaching myself to play the piano, and I am looking for sheet music for "I Don't Like Mondays" by The Boomtown Rats. Amazon.com only has one copy for $40, and while I might be willing to shell out that much if I absolutely cannot find it anywhere else, I was wondering if I could utilize the awesome resource of the Internet and see if my friends from Wrongplanet had any ideas of where to look.

This song is the main reason I started learning the piano, and I guess I just naively assumed I would be able to find the sheet music anywhere.

If someone had it, they could scan on for you. I got some one to send me a piece, from a website before for free (Vanessa Carlton-1000 miles) I will try and remember what site it was and get back to you. I can send you the Vanessa Carlton song, if you would like it.

Hello again!

I found the site for sharing files, just be careful about viruses as they are sent in zip format.

Good find, Irish. That site has several copies of I Don't Like Mondays.

(I cover that one when I play live shows sometimes :) )

Hey, so I guess I have to scan music files? Is there a special way to scan music?

Assuming you do have a scanner, it would be best to save it as a GIF (or a PNG if the site accepts them) as opposed to a JPG. GIFs preserve text and symbols much better than JPGs do. Sending the native BMP might be possible, but the file size is huge.

i don't know if Lucks or Kalmus have anything other than classical music, but it might be worth a try.

So I found a website that lets you buy sheetmusic digitally and print it off, but I just want to be sure of what I'm buying Is that the real music to I Don't Like Mondays? Just curious. I suppose I could figure it out on my own, but I am just learning to read music (mostly play by sound), and I wanted a fun song to work towards.

Also, in regards to the other site that lets you trade music---I am a newbie piano player, so what does it mean when there is the option for piano or piano/guitar/vocals? I want to have the words. Is that what I would want to trade for? The one with the vocals? And how do you know if you have music one of those guys want to trade for?
