Fecal transplant is a recently new method of treating several gastrointestinal problems that arise due to bad gut flora. Since a significant amount of gut flora hasn't been properly identified and lab-grown yet, the only method to reintroduce healthy gut flora is to take it directly from a healthy person's intestinal tract and implant it into the patient's intestine. Usually by freezing stool samples, putting it into basic-soluble pills (so that it doesn't dissolve in stomach but in small intestine), and ingesting it orally.

As it turns out, fecal transplants seem to cure autism…

Studying 18 people is not enough to prove anything. The pill eased the symptoms in that very small group, it did not cure them.

That's a really freaking small sample size. I think it would need to be repeated with more people to draw any conclusions (anyone wanna volunteer? LOL). Some digestive problems can make autism more severe, but treating the digestive issue doesn't cure autism.
