Hello all,

I haven't posted here for a long while (so long in fact that I had to re-register!)

I have Asperger's, and like many, I struggle a LOT with sensory overload. I'm also ill with M.E. and various other things, and it's really hard to get the daytime sleep I need due to the noisy world around me.

I've now found something that blocks out most background noise, other than bone-conducted sound. Just in case anyone else has spent decades looking in vain for a solution that's effective, comfortable, practical, and not stupidly expensive, I thought I would let folk here know. By the way, I have no connection whatsoever with the company that makes it, and will receive no benefit in any form from telling people about it.

The product is called Isolate, and is made by a company called Flare Audio. They have developed a new type of earplug, and it's much more effective than anything else I've tried. The only caution is that the current version doesn't fit a minority of people (me included), who have particularly tiny ears. They're beta testing a new, smaller version called Isolate Mini, which is the one I'm currently using. If you wanted to give them a go but for instance have trouble getting mobile phone earbuds into your ears, maybe wait until the Minis are available later in the year.

Mods, if it's not all right for me to mention a commercial product, please do delete my post. It's only intended to be helpful – I don't want to upset anyone or break the rules. :D

Cheers!
