The LGBT film Moonlight won three Academy Awards last night during the ceremony. The wins were for Best Supporting Actor, Best Adapted Screenplay, and a surprise upset in the Best Picture category winning Best Picture over the expected winner La La Land. Even though many LGBT films have been nominated for the Best Picture Oscar in the past, Moonlight is the first LGBT film to win Best Picture in Oscar history.
What do you think? Could the Oscar wins that were given to Moonlight start something new for LGBT films?
