So last night I went on a date with a girl. We were sitting on a bench in the park, and she actually told me that she was afraid to look away from me because she thought I might try to kill her. Now, that's a really strange thing to say to someone, however, the stranger part is this isn't the first time some one thought I was a psycho killer. This was actually the third time a girl I was seeing thought I may murder them. I just don't get it. I free mice from mouse traps at work, usher bugs out of my car window, have nearly killed myself avoiding animals while driving. I have no murderous intentions. I asked one of them why they thought that, and they told me that it was because I have a morbid sense of humor, and it's nearly impossible to read what I'm thinking.

What gives? Anyone else been accused of being a psychopath?

I think the correct word is "homicidal" not "psychopathic"; what a weird thing to say to someone when it’s nearly impossible to tell if someone is homicidal by just looking at them…, withdrawn can mean a lot of things. :?

I once drove around slowly in a car park because I was borred and looking around for a spot to park to write some notes, and a guy with a family just stares at me like I'm out to get his kids, and when I finally find a spare park near him he tells his children to stick by him and to get in the car 8O

Must have had one of my blank intense-focus stares on my face lol

Some kids were making fun of me in school a few years back. I normally ignored that sort of thing, but sometimes I'd get pretty upset if I was having a particularly bad day. One time, I yelled at them for it. They told me that I'm the kind of kid that shoots up a school.

I think that was probably one of the most hurtful things anyone's ever said to me.

I guess that's kind of along the lines of what you're asking.

Ah. dont worry. Some women go for that kinda man. They like a sense of danger. and Since you are not really, you'd be good for them. Just never tell em.

My brother said that I come across as intimidating. And He is older and bigger. He was sugar coating it too.

well that is charrrming!

what gives? perhaps you are quite intense and give a little too much eye contact as well as the morbid sense of humour?

are you going to see her again?

People used to think that of me because i did not regulate eye-contact well- i actually used to stare at people, i can hardly look at them now.
I wander around on my own a lot, and do not socialise as well as other people. I can see why people would be worried by me, so I do not take it personally, I know i am a caring person, as do my close family. That is enough.

These girls are using the term psychopath incorrectly. Psychopaths are typically highly sociable and outgoing, but they are concerned about what people can do for them rather than enjoying the company of others. They are not very self-conscious or prone to nervousness; instead, they are self-confident to the point of arrogance. They lack any kind of inhibitions against doing things most people would consider wrong, shameful, or embarrassing. They would have no moral compunctions against, say, murdering their wealthy spouse to take their inheritance, but that isn't to say most psychopaths are murderers (or that most murderers are psychopaths). Psychopaths are generally good at blending into society, and you'd have to get to know them before realizing they lack any sense of moral accountability and that they form no emotional bonds with others.

You might remember the occasional kid in school who got expelled because he did all kinds of bizarre and extreme stuff, threatening people, wiping feces on the walls in a classroom, killing the class pet, skipping school, and stealing. That's pretty much how psychopaths are as children.

I'd say quit talking about morbid stuff and laughing about it (if you are doing that). The other thing is probably the impassive face or blank stare. People think I'm innocent and in need of rescuing because of it, but the occasional person finds me intimidating. I think with men, those same looks come across solely as intimidating and frightening. They just can't read your face and eyes and that frightens them. It is pretty interesting that they go out with you if they are so afraid. I think Fuzzy is right.

Yep... believe it or not I do get dates. I don't know how it happens, it just does I guess. One of them actually married me. Although the Aspergers has taken care of that. I think I do give a bit too much eye contact. I used to never make eye contact, but was instructed by people that it was the appropriate thing to do. Perhaps, I've gone a bit overboard with it. 8O

I was at an ex friends home one day, my friends dad (a cop) comes in and stares at me so as to not "lose face" I have to stare back at him and he turns round and says I'm the most evil b*****d he has ever seen.

No idea why.

i guess its something about the "dead face"-look. i, at least, am often told that i dont display anything at all on my face - i could imagine that for most, it recalls images like hannibal lecter or something similar. or in general, its a sensation that most people find difficult to cope with, and therfore, react with fear (or at least a tingle on their spine)
