Hello,

I love bellydancing. I have been doing it for 3.5 years. It is great exercise and heaps of fun.

On the weekend, my dance school marched in a parade then performed. My 8 year old son, AussieBoy marched in the parade with us carrying the sign.

He also took photos. Here are a couple below.

I seem to vaguely remember my mom in the 1970's belly danced. I remember the gold coins.

The great thing about having boys with Asperger's is that they are not embarassed by me prancing around in my costumes.

The other ladies that I dance with have children (the same age as mine) they walk 20 metres behind their mum when she's dressed up.

My boys put on the coin belts and dance with me. Woo Hoo!

Yeah up till like 15 years old I was very proud of my mom. Then I was super depressed and could barely tolerate her craziness :)

Smelena,

Nice pictures....

I know where you are
it’s really not that far
several minutes at the speed of unleaded
when it’s not D day
several years ‘cause I don’t know where I’m headed
when it’s D day

^^^^Sure, Cockney :D see no problem with that, but make sure you have little routemasters on the costume.

Cool, we can dance a duet!

When's our first rehearsal?

It will have to be an online rehearsal because I can't afford the airfare to Canada.

Hi, Smelena! I've been bellydancing for almost 6yrs now and I love it. I dance Egyptian and enjoy Am/Cab as well. Love to watch Tribal but don't dance it. Saw BDSS's in Dec., it was very inspiring. PM me if you want. :)

What I like about bellydancing--funnily enough--is that it is usually beautiful and wholesome to look at, rather than skanky like some other types of performance dance. The name sounds provocative, but it is just pretty and fun. I like to see the bellydancers at the fair every year.
