However these new tshirts my stepdaughter bought me have a tag inside which is really irritating. I've cut out as much of the tag as possible but there's this very small bit left which I can really notice. It's really scratchy.

Luckily I've never had an issue with labels/tags except for 1 t-shirt where the label was on the side and touched my love handles.

Just cut it off whole, undo the seam, take the tag off and then fix the seam again.

I do what Laki has suggested. I use a seam ripper/cutter to preserve the condition of said garment. If you inadvertently cut a piece of the thread holding the garment together, you can easily sew it back together. However, if you have a good set of eyes or pair of glasses, it isn't often that you will rip the wrong thread, thus the seam cutter is an efficient way of eliminating tags/discomfort. You can pick one up at a fabric shop, or, anywhere that sells sewing supplies.

This is what it looks like...

Tags upset me too. I don't always feel them, but I get really uncomfortable when I see one. The other day a friend at work had a big tag sticking out, and I felt really uncomfortable every time I saw it. Whenever I have a garment with a tag that stays out easier than it stays in, I normally cut them out.

I do have one garment that has a tag in the side what is the same material as the garment, and the same colour, and the name of the brand or store it's from and the washing instructions are written on it in fine stitching, and I wonder why all garments can't be like that. The tag doesn't itch, or notice, or anything, not like these big white things that are very securely sewn into the back and are nearly as big as your hand. Really upsets me. AAhhhh!
