I've been recommended by a friend to try meditation for negative thoughts, yet i cannot understand how to do it without some soft of visual example and since its all in the mind you kinda cant. So any ideas on how to learn something like that if you're a visual thinker?

There are all kinds of meditation-videos on youtube. I'm sure there must be some that has some sort of visual meditation.
The only time it has worked for me is with guided meditation, also from youtube, although not visual. Just some voice telling me to focus on certain parts of the body and stuff.

Yoga Nidra works way better for me than sitting meditation. You lay on your back, so if you get stiff easily like I do, it's way less distracting that way.

Being stiff isnt my main problem. Everything is so foreign to me without example. If theres a way to show what actually happens to your mind. Like whats going on in peoples thinking patterns to be at peace. And theres no possible way to show someone your mind.

Those are good for slowing down and developing mental clarity which is especially helpful being that most of us on the spectrum think in black and white.

All you do is close your eyes, take several deep breaths and then you listen to a voice telling you to use your imagination based on the image that they give you. When I started doing guided meditations, I went to Youtube and started listening to guided meditations by "The Honest Guys" and Madeline Reinhardt who have great meditations.
