Hope this is in the right section!
Last year a little bit before I was officially diagnosed I was told by the educational psychologist at my university I would benefit from tinted glasses.

Unfortunately, he's since been extemely hard to get ahold of and beyond being screened for and told I should get some of these things, I have been given no idea how to or where to get them.

Anyone wear tinted glasses? Anyone know how I go about acquiring some? I feel they'd be a bit more suitable than the sunglasses I wear sometimes.

Rose colored glasses do change your mood. Amber is good too.
Search internet shopping sites for "Sunglasses, Pink" or "driving glasses", or "night driving glasses". You should find something you like.
After that, most drugstores and sporting goods stores have some you can try on. If you need prescription lenses, they can be arranged.

I tend to get visually overwhelmed in sunlight and I have a couple of pairs of blue-blockers (deep yellow lenses) that I use outside and these help a lot. I use them often when driving and I get a lot less visual strain. Also the white areas of a computer screen sort of scramble my vision - I see many dancing patterns zooming around the white areas - I've tried some of the computer display settings to get more of a yellow tint and it helped a little. Rose-colored lenses sound interesting, I'll have to try a pair.

I wear Irlen lenses and have since 2006.

At the preliminary testing I was presented with coloured overlays on text covered paper to see what I preferred. I found it easier to read with grey and purple overlays. Yellow was the worst - instant headache.

Afterwards I went for the full testing which meant I would get tinted glasses. It took a long time and involved me holding up various coloured lenses to my eyes (with clear prescription glasses on) and seeing (haha) which were better to both read with and view my surroundings in. Every time I'm tested (I usually go once every 18 months) I end up needing multiple layers of coloured lenses to make the finished result. For instance, now my lenses are blue but they are made up of a light grey, a light purple, a light blue and a darker blue. This is why I recommend going down the Irlen path rather than picking up a pair from the pharmacy, etc. Irlen lenses are custom made and each person is different in that respect.

The only thing is, they're expensive.
