I was driving with a couple of friends looking for parking and I said "im just gonna park in someone's driveway." I guess I was just trying to be funny and my friends laughed at the joke but said "That's offensive." Do you guys think what I said was quirky aspie humor?

How is that offensive? If you said it as a joke and they laughed, then there's no offense to it.

There is a time and place for different types of humour.

They probably didn't mean anything by it, if she knew you are autistic, she probably just wanted to remind you that it is offensive to do so towards someone elses property, i do not think the remark has anything to do with your relationship with them.

they don't know I'm autistic but I think it was a bit of a weird joke anyway. I get a little carried away when I socialize sometimes but id think it'd be insane to just park in someone's driveway...

Sounds like sarcasm to me due to frustration of not finding a parking space - this is absolutely fine in my book but I am a sarcastic twit.

Offensive ? offensive to who ? I don't see it. However if you are really deadpan your friends may of thought you were being serious?

In someone's driveway? And that someone says, "Great---a free car!"

That's the sort of thing I'd say......  Even better if there is a car in the drive already. 8O

Are you sure they didn't say "that's an offense"?
