I am not sure really... I know they have pretty extensive background and psychological checks for being a cop. They even give you a lie detector test. I figure they'll find a way to exclude anyone who doesn't fit normativity unless they're forced to allow certain aspects of diversity.

It probably also depends on the jurisdiction
