What happens during an autism diagnosis?
I forget who I went through, but talk to a parent about getting a hold of a healthcare professional to see if they can diagnose you. It's generally the people you contact for a psychologist or therapy. You can do it through your healthcare provider, I don't know of other ways. What happened with me was, I was seeing a therapist, and she thought I might have it, and she referred me to someone to get tested. Before hand, I thought I had it anyways, and that's why I was in therapy. An actual therapist wont diagnose you though. What they'll do is ask you a bunch of questions, ask your parent a bunch of questions, and observe you while they do so, that's it. It's not difficult and it's not scary, by any means. Afterwards, you have the choice of going to support group, doing therapy, so on and so forth. If I were you, I would also look up some books about autism, and educate yourself; and your family.
