I'm usually OK with one-on-one conversations. But when there are several people talking a lot, my brain will mix up the words quite often, especially if people start interrupting and talking over each other. It's like my brain knows which words were said, the meanings of each word, and a list of which voices spoke, but won't match them up with each other. It gets worse as I get more stressed out, and if I have a melt-down or shut-down I can end up not being able to understand language at all.
