It's been a few years since this beloved show has ended but it gave us one of the most lovable aspies in television, Abed Nadir. I just love this show and want to find people who love it too! #sixseasonsandamovie (although the movie seems to be increasingly less plausible)

I really liked the show, too.

I've seen every episode, apart from the final one! It was a shame that we lost three main characters by the end, but it was still pretty good with the various replacements.

I couldn't pick a favourite episode.

I love Community! I've seen every episode seven or eight times. I have charts for every season! Did you know that there are approximately 27.5 occurrences of the Troy & Abed handshake throughout the series?

I'm a huge fan as well. Wish it would come back onto UK Netflix so that I could watch it whenever I felt like again. Would love the movie to become a reality but I'm not holding out much hope of that ever happening.

WHERE THE HECK IS THE MOVIE? IS IT IN THE DEEP WEB? DO WE HAVE TO USE MAGIK TO SEEK IT?

sorry, i've been waiting years. the actors aren't getting any younger and i fear they may drop the movie idea.

The only thing that still gives me hope for the movies is that I still get Google alerts about how Dan Harmon still wants to do it, but so far it's all talk.

interestingly, it was Abed's character and Harmon's own admission that he thought he may be on the spectrum that made me look into it more seriously. previously, i thought people with aspregres had to be geniuses in maths or the sciences or anything with a lot of logic and sequencing and as I am more into arts and music i didn't feel my special interests were "smart" enough.

27.5? Was the 0.5 that one time Pierce bought their handshake and they couldn't get the magic back? I've seen the whole series all the way through maybe some 4 times, except season 6 which I've only seen all the way through once (I just don't like seeing it end). But I'm prone to watching random episodes often. One I've watched too many times to count is Paradigms of Human Memory, i.e. the one where it's like a clip show episode of a sitcom but without recycled scenes.

Ah the movie. I don't even know if it'll ever happen. All the actors are moving onto different projects and Don and Allison are getting pretty big now too. But I still have hope, especially since Dan is still wanting to do it. #sixseasons(andamovie?)

Curiously I never put two and two together that I could have aspergers from watching the show. But whenever I watch it now I'm like, "of course! how did I not see that." I guess that goes to credit how well the portrayal of Abed's aspergers was done, since it wasn't the "Sheldon Cooper" archetype: a genius at math and science who was unwittingly rude (that's not a bash on Sheldon, I just like the way Abed was written more).

yes, Abed was very relatable to me. His obsession with pop culture and the way his life merges with whatever movie he is obsessing about at that moment and the way he relates to people through movies... it was a lightbulb moment for me! i did the same with anime! lol

i can't relate to sheldon as much except for his love of trains and wanting to go on a train journey [stereotypical ik] and "his spot". he seemed too fussy for me ahah it didn't even occur to me that they may have exaggerated some aspie traits for comedic purposes

I know right! I think the only way I knew how to relate to people, for a long time, was through tv and anime. I think in some unconscious way, that's why I loved Community even before I knew I had aspergers. Because it was a show about people that didn't fit in or relate easily, creating a home for themselves. Plus it was also very funny

And yeah the whole "spot" thing I guess I relate to, but if someone sits in my spot I usually hold the displeasure in because I understand that saying something would seem rude

The handshake that I counted as 0.5 occurred in season 1 episode 5 "Advanced Criminal Law". Troy and Abed did a little handclap thing that was like a proto Troy and Abed handshake. It was their first instance of doing a special handshake together, but it wasn't quite the right handshake yet, so I counted it as 0.5!

I was completely hooked on Abed as soon as I started watching community! I had never related to someone on TV so strongly before. He's my second favorite character in the history of television (I don't think anyone will ever push Spock out of my number one spot).

I relate to Sheldon probably a little more than I'm comfortable with because I suppose I can be a bit fussy. I also have my specific spot on the couch and I did ask someone to move once. They called me Sheldon and it just made me sort of sad because I hadn't really thought about the similarity until then.

I just re-watched that episode again and I have to say, that first handshake does mostly look like the full handshake, just slower and more awkward, which would make sense if that was the first time they'd done it. I'm not sure now if I should still count it as 0.5 of a handshake or bump it up to a whole number. I'd welcome any opinions on the matter!

Also, I loved Paradigms of human memory! It's one of my most re-watched episodes. I don't know if you watch Dan Harmon's other show 'Rick and Morty', but I love seeing things in that show that occurred first on Community. When a 'Rick and Morty' episode called Morty's Mind Blowers came out I got really excited because it was the same, "clip show of things you've never seen before" format that Harmon did first on Community!

Abed is so much more relatable than Sheldon Cooper. I love TV and movies as much as Abed does. Abed isn't annoying and self absorbed like Sheldon is. Abed is a better representation of autism than Sheldon.
