For some reason I quite like wearing jeans that can go right up to my belly-button but I've always REALLY NOT LIKED jeans that have to go on my hips. It feels like they're going to fall down any minute. I don't like loose jeans either because they keep falling down and I have to pull them awkwardly up again. :x The jeans that I'm wearing at the moment I like but the button is quite hard to undo (luckily I wear them a lot of the time so I've got used to it).

All in all, I myself like jeans, but they can drive me NUTS.

I usually always wear a skirt but I used to wear jeans but I would always have to put a bicycle puncture patch over the back of the metal button else I would be forever scratching a nasty little allergy rash :(

I wear jeans a lot, besides track pants and overalls they are the only type of pants I wear and all my pants have to be made out of primarily cotton preferably 100%, and have to be washed a few times before I wear them to make them feel softer.

Jeans are very practical, very durable, so I like wearing them... however, I wear lots of other stuff as well... jeans used to really bother me when I was a little little kid; they restricted my movement and made me feel like I had to be careful or the zipper might come down, or they might fall off or something. :? I also hated it when it was cold and the jeans my mother tried to make me wear were really cold... I didn't want to put on cold jeans, but nice warm sweat pants!

DD wears jeans now, but it was stretch pants for the longest time, until DH finally said no more. Now she won't give them up. The bad part now is her shirts. She prefers them as tight across the chest as possible, and with a 15yo with a DD chest that just draws stares, which she of course is obivious to. Not too picky on jeans but the shirts have to be just so.

What about the person that invented turtlenecks? They honestly need to have their necks wrung. ;)

It seems like most jeans are either too wide or leave no room between the legs. I think it has to do with everyone being fat. I really do. Or maybe I'm too much of a man, if you get my drift.

Turtlenecks are super comfortable, I don't know what you are talking about 8O .

Ties sometimes make me feel like i'm about to die though... it may have something to do with OCD, but sometimes when I wear a tie, I constantly check if I can still swallow so I don't choke. Sometimes I don't worry about it at all. I guess it's dependant on my mood!

When I was younger, maybe up to 10 years old, I couldn't wear jeans, clothes of the colors gray or beige, nor anything that touched my neck.

Jeans, because they felt kind of like newspaper, which used to give me some sort of cramp.
The other two, because I felt suffocated.

Since puberty occured, I've grown much more "resistent" to stuff in general, including these. Now I can wear them.

I could NEVER wear jeans until they came out with the ultra low waist ones with spandex in them. This made for much more comfortable pants and now there are some I can actually wear. Prior to that it was always stretch pants and oversized sweaters or shirts. In the summer, shorts were always nice. But the jeans thing, OMG, yeah...huge problem for me.

First of does it have anything to do with AS? I can't speak for everyone, but in my opinion. Maybe.

Years ago, I used to only wear sweetpants. But about 2 years ago, I started to wear jeans.

I thougt the same things that you did.

It's not really that bad.

Plus if you don't like tight fitting jeans, they also make them loose.

Plus I think I got alittle more attention with the ladies when I started wearing them at High School. ;) LOL

I can only wear jeans that are loose enough. I don't like those that are too baggy, so I normally wear a unisex style that may be close (but not too tight) at the hips and goes straight down. Their breadth is the same throughout their whole length and is usually enough to cover my shoes from tip to heel. And if the denim is also soft, then such jeans are just perfect.

I don't have any *severe* touch issues, but rough or prickly fabrics do bother me (as do uncomfortable clothes on the whole) and I can't stand clothing that rubs too closely against my skin. Then I can't think of anything but peeling it off as soon as possible. This especially goes for jeans, since denim tends to be tough and crude and makes normal movements difficult as well.

I also don't like the very way I look - and feel - in any tight pants, jeans included. They make me feel naked and unprotected.

My AS ex-boyfriend always refused to wear jeans and never did and still doesn't, he claimed they were scratchy and rough and uncomfortable. My AS husband wears jeans now, but never did until he was in university (so he's told me) for the same reason. (He's also from Scotland and always refused to wear kilts when he was younger, although he says he thinks now he could handle it.)

I thought it was just a weird coincidence until I found out that sensitivity to textures is an AS thing.

the only one who doesn't like to wear things that give them rashes? nah, you are just one of about 99% of the world's population.
