The poachers were there to kill a herd of rhinos for their horns, but instead it would seem they became lunch for a pride of lions. https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/world-new ... r-12857347

It was the last mistake they ever made, maybe it will help to deter other poachers from trying to kill the rhinos.

This is wonderful news.

Sadly, this poaching will likely persist until the governments of Africa change for the better. I don't have high hopes for the future.

Lets hope more poachers try breaking into animal preserves, and get mauled to death!

So there is SOME justice in the world.

Too bad that the rich comfortable guys in China who pay desperate poor African poachers for the poached horns (to be ground up into powder to make love potion number 9) cant also be fed to the lions.

I agree.
I have a hard time condemning these people who are desperately poor and are doing what they can to feed their families.
The people who should be punished are the end users.

I do feel sorry for people in poverty I am not just some mean person. But I mean they tried to hunt the Rhinos and they got eaten by lions. I mean imagine that Rhinos saved by lions. I mean I feel sorry for the idea of someone despretely trapped in the poaching industry, so I think there should be programs or something to help these people find other ways of making a living and such. I mean for me personally I can't see trying to kill a lion or a tiger, they are endangered so they should be protected from hunting. Same with Rhinos...so there has to be consequences. But I mean these people knew it was criminal to hunt rhinos in the park and lions found them before they killed the rhinos so I cannot say I am unhappy the lions ate them, otherwise they would have likely killed a devestating amount of rhinos, apparently the had some pretty heavy fire-arms recovered from the site, indicating they may have slaughtered a disgusting amount of rhinos had the lions not got the better of them.

I mean to me these lions deserve a metal, they literally saved a herd of Rhinos from mass slaughter.

Absolutely!

No need to apologize. Glad you posted it. I was applauding the lions too when I first read it :) (its just that life is complicated, and other thoughts creep into the back of a person's mind).

Well also they had heavy guns and s**t, like military type guns they were going to shoot down the Rhinos with, so like literally if it was not for the lions tons of Rhinos would have been slaughtered overnight. Just a good thing the lions got to them before they could put those horrible weapons to use. It is sad if any desperate people just trying to make a living died in that...but on the other hand Rhinos are endangred so hard to be sad about lions saving rhinoes from being slaughtered for horns.

Absolutely. In fact I am amazed that even lions themselves would be a match for guys with AK47s, but apparently if lions are starving enough, and can get the drop on humans (it probably happened at night when cats have an advantage in vision over us) then apparently it levels the playing field :D .

I read about this the other day. I cheered. They got exactly what they deserved.
