This was one person's method of the too busy syndrome also to make herself sound important. "I'm booked for the next two weeks." I just said "okie dokie"...

Booked? Isn't that for service people and celebrities?

Some people really are that self absorbed. They have an over inflated sense of self importance.

I don't bother with those types of people once they show their colors.

Clever..

Anyway, I can't stand it when people make it excuses rather than let you know they don't feel like being with you. Whether if it's a good fit or whether you did something to offend that. If I don't want to be with someone then I let them know that it's not working out. Simple as that. I also don't do this ghosting thing unless the person just wants attention and ignores my "No" for an answer.

Oh my goodness Twilight, I like that. Honesty and I'd have a huge deal of respect for a person who said that to me. But NTs aren't often like that.

NTs don't say "I'd rather not spend time with you" because they don't want to hurt your feelings. And admit it, we'd be the first to call them cliquey for such an attitude.

I don't know exactly what kind of relationship you were describing here. It's possible someone really IS booked for two straight weeks, whether it's doctor appointments, dates, or running their kid around to play rehearsals.

*sigh*

I find these threads perplexing because I haven’t experienced stuff like that (at least, not since high school). Most people seem to be pretty nice.

Of course, I’m not social very often, so that could be why.

I just thought it was a little odd.

As for the NT not being honest.....I know the reasons why but still annoying.

I would not find a person snobbish if she were honest and said our personalities don't mesh. I've had that happen and I was ok with it. Not all personalities click.

Are you sure she's trying to make an excuse instead of really being too busy? Some people really do have a lot going on between work, skewl, family, & other priorities like interests & needing down time. Some people just say I'm Booked when they're too busy & don't really mean anything by the phrase.

This is the 21st century. Everyone is busy but you make time for the people and things that matter to you.

I had heard that the older you get, the busier people are but I like what Historygal was putting out there, people outside of the spectrum seem to make time for everyone else but us.

You should the look of shock if you tell one of them you're busy or not particularly interested in whatever they are pitching.
