How many of you like Chess?

I'm quite fond of the game.

I never played but I think I would majorly struggle with it cuz I struggle with Checkers

I don't care for it at all. Checkers can be fun once in a while even though I'm not terribly good at it.
I like Solitaire Chess though, and All Queens chess.

I know how to play it, but I barely ever do. Probably would be near impossible nowadays since my ADHD focus issues got a lot worse, and chess definitely requires focus . Have a second cousin or something that is an international level player though.

I need modern video games in all their million things happening at once in order to keep my focus .

Also I was playing Shogi lately via the Yakuza 0 minigame and I can't even beat the easiest AI level. Couldn't work out the correct approach. It's a fun variant though.

I am the world's worst at chess. I have a total inability to see what's coming at me and no tactical or strategic sense at all. About five years ago it became a bit of a special interest, I got loads of books and tried to teach myself. I had to play on computer as I couldn't face playing a human opponent... I could barely win at the simplest levels and didn't get any better after a year's study. Very frustrating... I gave up.

I don't care too much for chess, reminds me of being incarcerated...

lol yeah, the chess challenges in Watch_Dogs are actually pretty good though. Not too difficult but a fair challenge as well. You don't really need to be that good at chess to play, especially since they start easy and work gradually upwards from there.

Chess is the only board game I truly care for. It is also interesting to learn new things about chess playing. Not that I am any good or play often, but I like it enough to have two chess boards at home that are treasured items to me and won`t say no if someone asks me to play. Usually I play with my daughter who usually is the one who asks me.
Sometimes the match feels slow and uninteresting and we just can`t finish it because we`re both bored of it. Other times we have so much fun with what is going on on that board that we laugh and laugh.
Playing chess was something my mother started and got us all into years ago and it is a nice thing to do together I think. We do not care much that we aren`t any good. We play for our own silly amusement.

when i was playing regularly, i had a uscf rating of around 2000-2100. online these days, i seldom have the rest & the practice to play nearly as well.

I like chess but rarely plays. If someone wants to play with me than PM as I have a Chess.com account, but can't commit to frequent play. I'm also not good (~1400) but I don't mind when I lose, I just like the fun

I play in the local league.

I played chess a bit in middle school. Didn't continue but i am fond of grand strategy games.

Still know how to play it. I may not win, but i can do some damage to an AI opponent.
