I see a couple of people on here that like Yoga.

Does it relax you? Great place to meet people.

I tried it once, but couldn't stop laughing for all of the flatulence going on around me.

I practice yoga at home. Sometimes I use YouTube, but I usually do my own thing - whatever feels good that day.

It’s been great for calming my anxiety, increasing mindfulness, improving my posture, and I’m also looking more toned.

Maybe I’ll try out some classes at a studio this fall and winter. It seems like a good place to meet people.

My counselor who introduced me to yoga recommends that I actually train to become an instructor. I’m considering it...

Note to self: limit fiber intake the day before attending a class.

I hate it and can relax just fine—probably too much, in fact—without it, thank you very much.

I do it on and off. It's hard to stick with but it does feel good when I do it.

Yes I do yoga in my house with the help from Youtube tutorials. They help me relax a lot and if I do it everyday for a longer period of time it starts to put me in a more relaxed state all the time which helps a lot as I am usually anxious and tense. It's a great thing.

A psychologist advised me to try yoga to handle my stress. I will not attend a class as that would not help me reduce stress, but rather in the safe, familiar surroundings of my home. Since I have little experience with yoga I have looked for online resources to find some exercises that suits me (I have some limitations).
If it helps relaxing me or not is yet to be discovered, but I see it is doing so for others so I really feel motivated to try. :)

My problem with group yoga classes....is that I have an inherent hatred of group situations.

Me too Kraftie. I used to do better or at least feel that the motivation to learn what were being thought in a class etc would make me push my self to go anyway, but I must say as the years have gone by, I feel the fatigue and tiredness of the process is outgrowing the benefit. I don`t really learn well in group situations anyway. And if my purpose is to find peace of mind and relaxation I can`t seek out a group situation :D

But it is curious though to see how I have found some of the yoga poses on my own through the years because I have tried to find ways to make some muscles or parts of my body relax or find ways to feel I could breath better etc. Of course it is the simplest poses(and I didn`t know they actually were yoga poses until now), but still it tells me that yoga can make sense to me and my issues.

The last group class I went to was a beekeeper class :D I decided then that it would be the last time I entered a class like that with so much social stuff going on. This "decision" keeps me away from riding lessons too and that feels bad, I admit. But I think that if things change I can change my mind ;)

It takes some time for me to introduce a new habit or routine into my every day life, so my plan of doing yoga in a more scheduled way is still in the making but I have managed to put squats into my everyday routine so why not yoga exercises ? :D

By the way I have to mention that listening to my dogs snoring is quite relaxing too  I could do yoga while they are sleeping around me...that should do it! ;)

It's been a while since I've been to yoga, since my favorite place in town shut down. I like to do it in a class, so that a teacher can help me if I need it. Thinking about doing something this week, though, since another studio I signed up for emailed me saying I can come in for a free birthday month session.

So far, the other classmates I've had with haven't been very chatty, but the yoga itself has definitely helped me before.
