Hi. I'm Olivia, I'm a 23 year old transgender female with suspected ASD/Asperger's.

Looking back, I'm astonished the topic of ASD hadn't been suggested to me sooner, given the fact that I seem to exhibit 99% of the symptoms and characteristics. It honestly felt like a puzzle piece just clicked into place when I discovered ASD. I was lead to believe that autism/asperger's was an extreme disability that rendered someone incapable of pretty much everything, now that I've researched it all and know what ASD really is I feel as though so much of my life makes sense.

I look forward to absorbing the information I find on here, from what I've seen thus far everyone seems to be brilliantly articulate.

Welcome Olivia_H!

ASD is for some people a major disability in their daily life. For some, it does not effect their lives at all, and they take advantage of the ASD advantages.

Hope you will enjoy the forum, feel welcome and find lots of valuable information.

Welcome Olivia,

It does seem like that there are still a lot of misunderstanding about ASD out there, so it's not too surprising that you weren't aware about all aspects of it before. It was kind of the same way for me, never even considered it or researched it because it didn't seem super severe until finally prompted to do so by psychologist. Like Wolf said, it can affect everyone in a different way. I'm glad that you have finally been able to make more sense of your life, hope the forum can be a valuable resource! :)
