Last year, I met three people with different invisible disabilities who are all very close friends at a training that I helped with. We all seemed to get along really well and I did a few things with all three on a few different times. However, they seemed to stop calling me and inviting me to do things with them after a certain point. After that, I was the only one offering to reach out. I had invited them to three things and the first they said no. The other two times, they said they were coming and then suddenly all three of them suddenly had things coming up.

This time
1. One of them said they could not make it because they have to work and I know that's a lie because she works a government job and the event is on Sunday.
2. The other two seemed to text me at the same time because people in their family have medical situations
A. One of them said that their father is having surgery on his shoulder and that this dad wants him to help- He will make it up to me by giving me a free movie pass since he works at a cinema. He said that earlier this year the first time he canceled on me.
B. The other one said that her aunt had a stroke and doesn't think she is going to make it

I don't want to jump to conclusions but like most of you in here, I have faced lots of letdowns and people who can't be honest with us.

I’ve never had a birthday celebration that wasn’t organized by my family.

I give you credit for trying!

People working government jobs do work on Sundays, especially those involved in any kind of judicial, law-enforcement or public-safety activities (even as background support).

People get sick. It happens.

I did a little research on people who keep making plans and then canceling and one of the things they suggested was instead of accusing them is by dropping a few hints.

" You can say NO and I won't be offended" and "What kinds of things are you interested in doing?"

I asked one of them that two questions yesterday and she asked me "What are you talking about?" I asked her, "Would things would you find more fun instead?" That shut her up quickly.

However, when she promised to come to my party, she didn't bother to say thank you. Rather she kept asking me if her other friends were invited and I said they were.
