I prefer dogs cuz they're more predictable & routine oriented. Plus they can be service animals. If you get them classified as something like a service animal or emotional support animal, you can take them places that don't allow animals like stores & airplanes. Cats are good too thou. Which is better depends on a person's personality & what they want in a pet. I like rodents too thou. I had a couple guinea pigs & i have my 2nd chinchilla rite now.

Oh cats are routine oriented.

It's 4am. Time to jump on you and wake you up!

That's why I don't have a cat lol.

I want to get a couple of bunny rabbits.

Rabbits can be good but you just have to make sure to keep them picked up when your not watching them cuz they'll chew on ANYTHING.

I decided early on that I would only live with a cat after deciding that living with people was too difficult on me. So far my orange tabby is wonderful because I don't have to hear people, who have low tolerance yell at me because I failed to meet their expectations. With my cat, I am allowed to be myself.

I agree, my cat is good company :) Worst thing about her is she insists on coming in and out. She feels the same about eye contact as I do and she and I blink at each other slowly which is nice.
I don't like dogs because the only things I can rely on mum's dog to do is jump and bark. And strange dogs jump and chase me at the park which is horrible and owners find it funny. I can rely on my cat to sit next to me and purr when I read poetry etc out loud.
When I was ill (social anxiety, I think I had a break down) the only beings I could be around for the first few days were mum and my cat. She lay on me and purred while I was in bed.
She's nocturnal but that's why I don't let her in my bedroom once I've decided to go to sleep.

I want a cat, or a couple of cats, but my boyfriend is allergic to cats.

I've always had cats all my life because my parents are cat-lovers. So I feel I can't live without a cat, and my mum says that when the family cat passes away she won't get any more, so I can't even enjoy a cat when I go to see my parents.

My boyfriend is stubborn that he won't become immune to a cat if he exposes himself to them. If he touches a cat his skin comes up sore on his arms, and if he breathes in cat hair it makes him cough a lot.

I would get a dog but dogs need more attention and anyway I don't think we're allowed pet dogs in our apartment according to the landlord, but pet cats are allowed.
Not all cats are uninteresting and unfriendly. Certain breeds are very friendly. My family cat is very friendly and sociable. She loves people, and is very vocal. She's so gentle too, she let's you touch her paws and if she doesn't want you to she will just meow and move away. Very easy cat. But she's getting very old and she won't be around forever. God I wish cats live as long as humans.

Make sure the couple you get is a gay couple, or you'll have far more than 2 in no time!
