Completing final fantasy VI

I have a poor sense of direction and I fear in part 2 even with FAQS I wont be able to complete the game and also its "non linear" in the second half and I might mess it up

I got to part 2 and started to lose interest, and then the save file got corrupted and I gave up and gave the cart back to my friend @_@

Maybe I'll give it another try some day, the GBA port is supposed to be pretty decent.

What part of the game are you at currently? If you're worried about getting lost or sidetracked, I find it helps (especially with older games) to keep notes for myself on what I'm doing, where things are, what NPC's have said, etc.
