I celebrate my 26th birthday today. I actually enjoy my birthdays, I like the presents and general birthday atmosphere that is always around on someone's birthday. And the cards as well, I like the pretty pictures you get on the cards. I don't have a party because of the crowds and usually see my family which I will be, after work.

I'm pretty pleased with myself. In my 26 years on earth I have achieved.

* driven a car.
* learnt to play the violin, guitar, piano and organ.
* learnt to draw.

Only small things I know, but I'm proud of them and proud of myself for making them happen. I can't believe I've actually lived to be 26 lol. Its been a long journey so far and hopefully I've still got a bit of journey left in me. I won't make 50 but a few more years would be nice.

Does anyone else have their birthday on this day?
I'll have to leave for work soon. But the afternoon I will celebrate, alone until my family arrive.

Happy Birthday, Faith!

Those are outstanding achievements. You are far ahead of where I was at that age.

Faith,

I enjoy them now, since I do so much more than I used to do. For a long time, I was just getting older and making no improvements in my life. That has changed in the last five years.

Thank you. :)

Good for you Istomin! I'm glad you enjoy your birthdays more now and that you have made changes and improvements to your life. It's surprising what you can do in the space of a few years, that's what I found.

I hope you can continue with this positive outlook on yourself and keep making those improvements.

Happy Birthday! :D

I used to like my Birthdays but I haven't done an actual birthday in years. The last time anybody attempted to do a birthday for me ended in disaster. :(

I still get a present or two but that's it.

I love birthdays, not just my own either. I like all birthdays. They put me in a really good mood.

I'm sorry your birthdays haven't been good the last couple of years. Maybe your next one will be better.

Happy birthday Faith!

Make the most of it and enjoy continued health and happiness.

I've been celebrating my 26th birthday for many years now!

Like Fran told Grace in an episode of The Nanny:

"When you're 20, I'll be 30. When you're 30, I'll be 30. And when you're 40, you'll understand why I'm still 30."

I think that's how the quote went at least. :lol:

Thank you :) . I certainly hope so.

My mum always says that. She's 50 now and has been saying she's 30 for the last ten or more years, she's aged well so hopefully so will I lol.

Do you enjoy your birthdays?

Not really. I only celebrate for the sake of my two nieces who love a nice party with cake; they are 8 and 4 at the moment. The rest of the family also enjoy having special occasions to celebrate.

For children, it's fun. The girls love their birthdays. I actually just bake or buy cakes or other nice things when I feel like it, rather than for a special occasion.

I also enjoyed mine as a child, but never liked jelly. (Actual jelly, not what the Americans call jelly which we in South Africa call jam). It always used to confuse me when Americans refer to jam as jelly...

It comes in different colors and fruit flavours,has gelatine in and you mix a pack with half cold and half boiling water then leave to set. You can set it in a mould if you want.

I don't like the texture much.

What do you guys call it?
