Are people with Asperger's Syndrome and Autism unattractive?

I seem to think I and other people with asperger's and autism look unattractive even to NT people, Why is this ? In order to fit in with everyone else I dress in what I feel is latest fashion for men to wear, I still have neck-length long hair and not shaved, short haired or long hair at the top and shaved around the sides. I still seem to think women will find you more attractive if you have hair like that. I'm living in Essex in the UK and I seem to think all the men are like that there and that if you have long hair like mines living there its frowned upon. But my hair is not very long like down my shoulders. It should not be about looks.

Attitude and behavior play major roles in attractiveness. You could look like a swimsuit model, but if you are arrogant, obnoxious, or whiny, then you will actually drive people away who might otherwise be attracted to you.

On the flip side, you could look like you were raised by wolves, but if you come across as confident, optimistic, and generally pleasant, you will still attract others.

Physical beauty is not the be-all and do-all of attractiveness; attitude and behavior are important too!

I have discovered that people go for personality and social skills, not looks. The type of personality and how well the person is skilled socially is what makes them seem attractive to look at even if they're physically hideous.

Many people with Aspergers/autism are at least rather good-looking physically.

I used to get a lot of "you should be a model" comments.
Not so much now.
Now it's more like "you could be a shop dummy."

Part of attractiveness is in mannerisms, movements and facial expressions too. Because people on the spectrum are less likely to make eye contact and are socially awkward, it affects how others and even other autistics perceive us.

I've been told that I'm a very particular kind of cute more than elegant, which as I age gets a little awkward.

I've been likened to Ramona Quimby, Noodle from Gorillaz, or Ed from Cowboy Bebop more than once. I think it's interesting that people relate me to cartoons or literary characters more than real people. Maybe it's because fictional characters are allowed to be unusual in a way that is painted kindly by the hand of the writer.

The OP is discussing attractiveness in the context of physical looks.

If you are physically attractive you are likely to recieve preliminary interest. If your personality is off putting people that interest will most often be short lived.

I'm not attractive. I'm short (5' 1") and look younger than my age. At best, I'm cute, not pretty.
