I ask people that myself and I get different answers each time. From what I learned from all of that is that it seems you have to define love yourself. That only you can determine what love is and how you know you are in love.

It's so confusing, here are things that people say that are common (based on what I heard.)

Butterfly Feeling
Nervous
Excited
Anxious
Happy

Can't remember others right now. But anyway different people will probably give you different answers.

I've only been in love once, but here is my take:

You know those crappy lovesongs with cheezy lyrics you've probably heard being played on the radio, MTV and whatnot?

Suddenly they make sense... That is how i knew.

there are many ways of falling in love

fall quickly, slowly
fall in winter, summer
fall for one night or for ever

you always know when you fall

It was the most intense feeling I've ever had when I fell in love as a teenager, going from a state of pure bliss just because she said "hello" to me and then absolute agony later that same day because somebody told me they that saw her talking to another boy during break-time. It's like being addicted to a drug, you get the rush but also the withdrawal. I couldn't think of anything else and it wasn't any easier once I'd finally got myself into a relationship with her. Being apart was unbearable.
Since then, I've got myself into situations so quickly that it just hasn't felt the same. Maybe because they needed me more than I needed them. I think you feel it more if the other person holds the balance of power.

My mom says you just kinda click, it's someone who you will just know in your heart, and want to spend your life with.
However, she also got engaged the first time after a few months over letters, after he died was single until a few months to a year ago and is now engaged to her old high school flame.

IDK though, I've never even been on a date. (Yeah, I know I have no experience to talk from.)

But it is important to look past the infatuation in the beginning, because that isn't love. Love isn't a feeling and feelings fade.

I feel love very strongly & when I'm in love I am obsessed with the person & feel sick to my stomach when I'm away from them.
