I like being optimistic and I like being positive, but I do not want to sound arrogant and narcissistic. How can I avoid being an arrogant narcissist?

I think through the eyes of a pessimist, being optimistic and being positive may sometimes seem like a person is being arrogant and narcissistic. But it really isn't. It is just being an optimist and having a positive outlook on life.

Relax ... a true arrogant narcissist would never ask this question!

It is actually a gift to the world if you spread some sunshine. So much of life is negative and anxiety-producing. Sometimes other people just need reassurance, a pep talk, or a smile. Why not give that?

Anyone can label anything as "rude". They act like they have a moral right to veto anything you do, just because they don't like it

"Rude" is a judgement

f**k those ass holes :!:

You need to be smart enough to avoid contradicting or contesting someone else's world view. Think of it as a challenge to show how smart you are without being obvious.

One very effective way of leading people is to make people think they are doing it on their own, rather than trying to convince them to do it your way.

1. Don't talk about yourself all the time(That was a big one for me)
2. Don't monopolize the conversation - I have heard that it gives people the idea that you want to be the "Center of attention."
3. Ask about the person who you are talking too- Interests, what they do for a living etc. You can connect with them.
4. A really big one would be to practice not getting wrapped up in yourself and your problems while ignoring everyone else.
5. Volunteer to help other people with things and if they look at you differently, remember that's on them and not you.
