Hello.
was just wondering what people's special interests are.

For me, I guess my first special interest was art and crafts. I learnt to paint before I could walk.
Then when I was 11, I started karate. Which became my main focus during this time.

When I got to 18, I started to get into music. Music (playing, writing, engineering, producing) being my main special interest now but with some martial arts and occasion art. All which I drop everything to focus on, one subject at a time, at 150% intensity but perhaps lacking in normal organization skills.

I presently hold a Judo Coaching licence but am not training too much. As I say, for me its the all or nothing approach.
I can not function working on several different areas at the same time. I have to completely focus to be happy and to get any produce that is of any worth.

Please write what you guys are into.
Thanks

For most of my childhood it was cats, then I found out cats were worshipped by ancient Egyptians, that was my next one. Ancient Egypt led to modern day Egypt which led to politics. Then MBTI, then psychology, now it's brain disorders (primarily ASD and its common comorbid conditions).

Sometimes I will obsess over a completely random topic for a few short months, for example, carnivorous plants.

For books and tv it's not the intensity of the interest, but the exclusion of all the other books and tv outside of the interest.

There are so many things in this world to be interested in, it's too bad I can only focus on one at a time. Like you said, all or nothing.

When I was a kid my special interests were Legos, watching TV, & playing video-games. I got a computer & net after I graduated high-skewl & then that became my special interest. Then my 1st girlfriend. After we broke up my special interest was trying to get another girlfriend but the comp & net were still a special interests too. I developed a crush obsession on a celeb during that time & that was also a special interest. I got in my 2nd relationship & she became my special interest. I got in my current relationship shortly after we broke up & she's my special interest now. The crush obsession on the celeb came back after a while so I guess that's also a special interest.

I've also had several over the years.

First real one was fighter jets, we used to live in a town with an airbase.
Then i got a computer in 83 (Vic 20) and that life long interest started.
Programming took off as soon as i got my computer (it had no storage device).
Security (as in computer security) developed over time.
Music: Drums mostly and sequenced music on the computer.
Riding a bike was fun for a while. I used to go for looong rides out of the city, sometimes to other towns.
Traveling also, i got onto trains/buses and traveled to nearby towns, ate and explored the city. Just because.
Testing food is one that i do often, i like to try different flavours and dishes. Mostly asian food.
My latest is VR. I've spent too much time in it lately.

I've had many interests but the only thing I can call a long-lasting special interest is drawing.
