Hello, I'm new here. I may or may not enjoy this site, so I may or may not stay here very long.
Anyway, I decided that I must have some kind of autism or aspergers about 4 years ago when I read a magazine article about a lady who couldn't make friends, and loved lists, etc. then was diagnosed herself when her children showed signs of autism. She described me to a T...except that I never got married nor could I ever learn to drive a car. There are some members in my family who have been actually diagnosed with some sort of neural a-typical brain disorder, so the apple doesn't fall from the tree. I do have a fulltime job and can pay my rent at the low-income apartment I live in. I can cook, budget my income, and I have lots of hobbies - but being as I am, I find it extremely hard to make friends. I am sect./treasurer of my local camera club and secretary of the town nature group, so that's better than nothing. (I'm respected as long as I can hold an office no one else wants.) Ha,ha! Yes, I have been bullied. All through my life, at every job, relationship, whatever. Hence, depression has been a major factor in my life, but I have taken up many hobbies to keep it at bay. And that's all I can say for now.

Thank you. I am glad these days bullying slowly being not seen as a "right of passage". It is abuse and should be labelled as such.

Welcome, Debbiegirl to this site. You are accomplishing quite a bit, definitely you aren't letting autism claim the victory. Keep on keeping on...

Thank you. I am glad the donuts are virtual. Sweets are my downfall.

Thank you for your warm welcomes, everyone! (Don't feel bad if I am not replying directly to each of you.) It will take awhile to find my way around here. There is bound to be some relevant topics I can contribute to, and then again, I can always start one myself.

Right now it is - 18 C (0 F), so it is not too bad. A few weeks ago it went down to - 35 C. That was very, very cold. In a month or two it will warm up and the snow will melt. The trees will bud, flowers will grow, and the birds will come back from the South.

Thank you for reply.

To me -18 C is already very very cold, and -35 C is unthinkable :D
