What is the "best" medication for Aspergers

Obviously there's no pill that makes it go away - I'm on Sertraline and Pregabalin for anxiety. Which have people found most effective??

Self acceptance.

And for meltdowns and stuff, avoiding bright lights and wearing dark glasses.

Not gonna medicate my personality though.

eliminating stress is the best medication for me.

Pregablin is a nasty drug , is it helping ? When I missed a dose of pregablin I felt awful.

It makes me slightly "rushed" and does lower my anxiety. I have that pit of fear in my stomach if I forget to take it

It didn't affect my anxiety , I'm glad it helps yours. You can get withdrawal symptoms from missing one dose , it's really important not to miss a dose.

Self acceptance and autism acceptance. Music also helps. It also helps to be treated with respect. Matcha green tea also helps.

It really is a matter of what symptom or problem you are trying to mask...nothing's going to make it go away. But related depression, anxiety, and related conditions can still be medically treated accordingly.

I have found the things that help me are pets, music and physical exercise. Also, living a more full life has increased my self-confidence.

First of all, I have autism, not Asperger's so I'm not sure how well this will correlate. Perhaps trying an atypical antipsychotic would help you. Risperidone and aripiprazole have been FDA approved for individuals with autism.

Medicating for autism will likely not be very effective, however it can be helpful for common comorbids.

It probably depends on the person as to what will work best. At this point in medicine, really what you do is treat the symptoms and/or comorbids, and which one(s) are most problematic are going to be different for each person, probably.

What I'm currently on, which seems to be working well enough for me, are venlafaxine (Effexor) and lithium, but mostly those are for my depression and anxiety. I was on sertraline before, but I think I was switched off of it because it wasn't helping enough, if I remember correctly. Remeron made me very tired all the time - I was in school at the time I was taking it, and I could not stay awake through my classes no matter how hard I tried. I tried Abilify as well, but had a very bad reaction to it.

I don’t know what i have they said Level 1 ASD estimated but at that time the term aspergers had become obsolete by professionals so idk which i am as I presume they are the same thing

Welbutrin has helped with focus n anxiety not eliminated but slightly removed enough tht i can leave the house without getting confused n wandering/perseverance expressed by walking n nor knowing what to do which i used to do since childhood
Now i can do things like grocery shopping with less issues n anxiety n confusion

Before i needed to call XH throughout as i wd get confused n he wd have to talk me through which i bet is very tiresome n probably one of the things he did not enjoy at all but without i wd literally get lost or lose things or panic n as it had happened so many times he had to even though I felt bad n kept apologizing
With welbutrin this doesnt happen its still bad but not to that degree
Zoloft WAs unhelpful

There is NO med for Aspergers but I have had some success treating my comorbids. Buspar/Buspirone helps my anxiety alot. Neurontin/Gabapentin helps my OCD alot. I have found other various psych meds helpful at different times but I'm not gonna get into all that.

Risperidone was a hell for me. Benzos didn't make my anxiety any better. Both caused totally disabling extrapyramidal symptoms.

I take escitalopram for my reocurring major depressions and off-label quetiapine for insomnia.
But the best medications are rest and self-caring, without them, the pills do very little.

I obviously have comorbids and I take latuda, depakote, trazadone and Zoloft (sertraline). The addition of the sertraline made quite a difference in both my depression and anxiety and I haven't had a meltdown in quite awhile either.
