Life Changes Effecting School
I will make the summary of my situation concise.
I graduated with high honors from high school.
I start my 1st semester in college, do mostly well but get a C in chem.
During that 1st semester is when me and my now-wife begin talking online.
During winter break we meet.
Married during 2nd semester.
I try hard at first during this semester, but the desire to spend time with my partner plus with a long faculty strike hurting my grades makes me feel both uninterested and helpless. My technology for the homework in 2 classes fails me. One class is salvaged. Midterms come with mediocrity. I accidentally miss a lab or 2, further mistakes cause several other labs to be missed. One class plummets, the lab is on the hinges, and another class is looking mediocre. Only my calc stands strong, but it looks to only be a B.
And get this- during all of this I am working a job and planning a move to another state that, get this- is a literal paradise and is limiting my credit hours signifigantly until I am a 1 year resident there. We have a lot of money saved up.
This bright future excites me, but school this semester going badly upsets and unmotivates me. The idea of debt is also challenging to process and overall my first year of college leaves me with more questions than answers.
I plan to continue college when I move but I hope I can actually see it through after this semester and fix my s**t and if not, discover a great idea to start a business or the like along the way.
Any thoughts or advice are welcome.
I think my only advice is to try to get stable outside of school.
From my own experience, when things are going relatively smoothly outside of school I do really well. When things aren't going very well outside of school I don't do very well at all. Almost not even worth it to be there then.
