That's what a report about climate change from the Pentagon say, no less; it's about the US military, really, but it do apply to civil society.

Things are pretty bad. :(

It seems to me that the US military are hijacking climate change and using it to scare everyone into giving it more money and weapons.

The military itself is one of the worst polluters that there is. Expanding the military and giving it more money is not going to help reduce pollution. In fact it will more likely have the opposite effect.

You can't tell me climate change is a hoax because I see evidence of it every time I see the news, check the weather forecast or even just looking out my window. :x

Although I'm not seeing much from my window now because it's night and the curtain is down. :)

I wonder when China is going to want to capitalize on all the money they lend us by garnishing our real estate.Think about how much of our dept. they own and how easy it would be to try and cash in on all that.
I wonder what are the legal aspects of that are, could they legaly confiscate our land. It's and interesting legal question, what realistic powers does China have over us because of our dept.

No-one outside America is going to care if the US military collapses. Not that it will anyway; so much of American culture and budget policy goes into pouring money into it that any kind of scaremongering about it downsizing in any appreciable way is honestly ridiculous. Doubly so if it comes from a source intrinsically tied to it.

If the US was like Canada it wouldn't need any more military than they do.

Even with the most dire climate predictions, a collapse in 20 years seems improbable.

Reminds me a bit of an article I saw in 2016 claiming half of all wild-life would be gone by 2019.

Like I don't think people realize how slow climate change really is. In 1998, the mean temperature was 0.62C above 1950-1980 average. In 2018 it was 0.80C. That's 0.1C/10years.

Sea level rise is at 0.13 inches per year. So over 20 years, 2.6 inches.

And scientists are working to find ways to combat this problem, even with an idiot like Trump in the white house.

Vice is not a really good source for news.

To tell you the truth, I no longer trust any media outlet, whether it be Fox, NBC, WaPo, Breitbart, Reuters, the BBC, NHK, or even Deutsche Welle. They’re all a bunch of f!cking liars, with their own axes to grind.

In my sick, pathetic little mind, Ignorance is bliss! It’s why I’m nearly a hermit.
