I do. So much that I tend to grow weary during the holidays. I can get agitated easily and fairly quickly in situations where I am expected to sit and listen to topics that I don't care about.

To the point where I have to leave and do something else, otherwise I'd probably yell at nothing, when I am visiting relatives and the conversation is turning stale. Whilst I am usually collected, I do have an impulsive and restless side. I know that disappearing to somewhere else is a little rude, but I'd be tempted to tear out my hair otherwise, or roll around on the floor because dammit I get so bored.

Even when we watch TV as a family I can't enjoy it because I hear people talking in another room, or in the same room discussing the film/show, and I can't concentrate on both. :x

I feel like I'm acting when I'm home for the holidays. Just going through the motions and trying not to lose my mind. I'm not that good at just relaxing. Without something to focus on, I grow extremely weary. Agitated. On edge. Who knew relaxation could be so stressful? :lol:

Yes I find almost everyone and everything boring. And yes I find myself boring too

There are many things that are worse than boredom

Getting hit by a car not boring. Getting hit with a car is worse than boredom

I'm still recovering from the so called Holidays. I am not sure how much it has to do with boredom though. More with overload.

The Christmas Eve was fine - I visited the family I like and they talked about interesting topics, with little situations of two people speaking at once (everyone was usually waiting for their turn or getting their turn by force and then everyone was listening to the one person speaking). It was still a little tiring but not boring. The travel there was worse because there were some smelly people in the bus and I had to travel for a hour. But at least I choose a bus that goes different route than the one I usually take and sat up front so I could focus on the views. There was also a bad situation when I was still in my city though. I had 15 minutes till my bus, I needed to pee and the shop centre surprisingly got closed so I wouldn't go to the free restroom there (I didn't know it's only open till 2PM that day - the building is usually open till 11PM and is even open during no-selling-allowed Sundays!). Fortunately I know where a restroom is at the station but I had to waste time going there (if I were late for my bus I would be late for the Christmas Eve as well, next bus in a 1,5 hour) and I had to pay to enter. Not to mention they suddenly changed the price from 2PLN to 3PLN! Such a rip off! I was soooo angry.

The Christmas day was worse. I visited a family I don't like and had to listen to multiple people speaking at once, with different accents, with TV in the background playing Christmas songs even louder than the talks around. I could understand about 2/3 of what the person next to me was saying and I was supposed to hear what the uncle on the opposite end of the table is saying because he was speaking to me. Terrible.
Eventually I told my parents to give me a ride to the train station and that I won't be staying with them for the 2nd day of Christmas because I had enough. In the train I almost yelled at a pair, yelling and swearing about how "The Bald met Anna on the Christmas Eve" and stuff (they were basically speaking about their friends, so loud everyone could hear them). But I held myself together and went to find a silent seat - I found one in a room with many passengers sleeping and the others reading.

2nd day of Christmas was when boredom finally hit me. There was nothing overwhelming anymore (aside from a neighbor watching a Christrian TV at 9AM and waking me up) but I felt as if I were in a prison - there was nowhere to go because all shops and stuff in the whole city were closed. At 7PM I had enough and decided to go out anywhere for a change of pace - and ended up running and jumping around the neighborhood like a 5 year old.

My mind is too active for that. My cousin and I would sometimes get the sit in a corner punishment, which he hated. Whereas I could stare at a spot on the wall and be entertained for hours. (not that they actually made us sit there for hours).

I get bored and tired and restless listening to conversation, too - it takes a lot of effort to pay attention to what people are saying, especially in groups. And joining in is even worse - if I focus on listening then I'm "too quiet", but if I try to talk I always say the wrong thing, apparently. So glad the holidays are over!

When alone I never feel bored, and can always find something to occupy myself with, or just zone out in my own thoughts.

I don’t think I know what boredom feels like. If I’m not interested in what’s happening around me I just start thinking about something that does interest me.

I'd put it on a pedestal,
But it would die due to it not being connected to the host body.

I am so blessed to have my brain.
I wouldn't be the person I am without it. <sigh>

I am often creative, but I do get creator's block sometimes. There are moments where I can easily keep myself occupied, usually this is easier when I am on my own. However, I also go through phases where almost nothing keeps my interest.

To summarise;

Phases

1: Creative buzz. Plenty of ideas.

2: Focus on a few in particular. Research.

3: (Sometimes) Obsession.

4: Not as many ideas. The flow becomes a trickle.

5: Absolutely no motivation. No ideas. General drowsiness and apathy. Possibly burnout?

6: Vague unhappiness due to lack of progress.

7: Relax for a bit.

8: Something grabs my interest and the cycle repeats.

Oddly, I have a tendency to flip-flop between everything is boring and the world is fascinating a lot. Sometimes I remind myself of my progress because my self-critical nature can discourage me. Admittedly people in my life have complained that I don't care enough about things. I find it easier to find something interesting if it crosses over into an interest that I already have. For instance, I enjoy writing fiction. Now, when I write I sometimes have to research into topics which I might not do otherwise, because that information is relevant for writing accurate scenes, or for general world building. I have actually stumbled across a significant amount of subjects due to research for my stories.

Here's another example. I have always been fascinated about why certain traits in animals develop and how. Combine that with my interest in fiction, and you get the creation of fantasy animals that are suitable for my fictional settings. I relate to this somewhat:

My brain has always been slow & uncreative except for some of the time I was suffering from a psychotic depression. I'm pretty ret*d in some ways compared to my peers. I assume some of it is cuz of my ADD. I lose focus & zone out & daydream about nothing.

I am hyper-sensitive to caffeine.
When I don't have my coffee (or covfefe) in the morning, I'm rather "blah".
When I have a snootful, I get very creative,
But don't get on my bad side if you want to live. :twisted:

Have you looked into whether or not caffeine inordinately affects you also?
