Does 10 years feel shorter as you get older?

When I was 20, it felt like 20 years ago since I was 10. But now I'm nearly 30 it only feels like 5 years ago since I was 20. (Hope that makes sense).

Yep. Time passes faster as you get older.

It sucks. Get used to it.

I sat through church sermons when I was a child in 1965 that were longer than the entire George W. Bush administration. And had appointments at the dentists in that year that took longer than the entire Obama administration.

Even when I was young … I recall two girls in class commenting upon "how fast highschool seem to go by compared to Junior high" even though they were the same length of time, and I remember thinking "yeah. Seemed that way to me too."

Yup, it's very disconcerting. I wish I could slow it down a bit. It really upsets me.

Yes. A decade passes by quicker the older you are.

Best to try and enjoy the times we have.

I have spent years worrying about things there were no need to worry about.

Time is speeding up for me as well. A year passes in what used to feel like six month's time for me.

For those in their twenties and thirties and are employed: Starting saving a crap ton of money now. Live on as little as you can and put the rest away, invest it wisely, etc. Have a goal of retiring as early as possible unless you love the work you do so much you literally wouldn't want to do anything else.

My father in law was able to enjoy THIRTY YEARS of retirement before he died. I know three people who died within a year after they retired from work between the ages of 65-70. I want to live like the former and I think the latter is tragic.

I feel like it does. My dad used to tell me that time flies by as we age, I didn't believe him. It always seemed the hours, days, weeks, months, years went at a snail's pace when I was little. He was right.

I still have some memories that are fresh in my head from 9th grade as if it wasn’t 4 years ago.

I was at a birthday party a few years back and two women told me that life goes really fast after turning 20 and I started to notice that as well; The first half of the 2010s felt longer than the second half. My Facebook memories sometimes remind me of statuses where I said "wow X happened almost 3-5 years ago" and those statuses now older than the time I mentioned in the status.

I also still have very vivid and recorded internet memories from 2009-2010 and it's crazy that they're older than ten years now!

I'm in the same boat as you, Joe90. I'm 28 and I feel like the first half of 20s took three years, and the past three have felt like one.

In my experience it depends on what I have going on in my life. Time went faster when I was employed than when I was in skewl but it went faster when i was in skewl than the time after I graduated & been unemployed.
