Do you think 12 years younger than you is too much?

It doesn't matter what we think. It is your life and you won't be hurting anyone. How do you feel about it?

12 years was the age difference between my parents.

I once met a couple where the husband was about 75, and the wife about 50. They'd been happily married for around 25 years. The wife said that all her friends told her not to do it, as it wouldn't last, but all those friends were now divorced! The age difference between my next door neighbours is about the same. He's now in his 80s, and she's in her 60s, and they've been together for a long time.

No, if both parties are relatively mature. But, people sometimes change a lot between legal age and say, their mid 20s.

Currently it would be, because that would mean my partner would be 17. But that some point, the age difference just feels like less and less of one. I've recently been on a couple of dates with someone who's 12 years older than I am and I usually forget we're not the same age.

As long as you're both adults and happy together, why worry about it? I've been in relationships with much bigger gaps--in both directions.

As long as it's consensual, it's fine. My parents are 5 years apart, my dad met my mom when she was fairly young (she may have been 16-17 at the time, but could have been 22).

My father was 25 years older than his second wife. They stayed married 31 years until he passed away.
