On top of a gas kitchen stove.

Those heavy black iron things that hold the skillet above the flame. What do you call those things? :oops:

I call it a grate, but there may be a better term.

When I google "grates on a gas range" that word works - sends me to the right places (to get instruction on how to clean the darn things). :)
