"Morris Garages" (a.k.a., M.G.) is now owned by the SAIC Motor Corporation of Japan.

My dad used to have an MG Midget (British Racing Green of course).
Sold it last year due to downsizing to be closer to my sis and her kids.

THEY're Chinese, not Japanese.
Even worse.  Whether you realize it or not, someone sold your great-grampa's company to the Communist Chinese government.  SAIC Motor Corporation Limited (SAIC, formerly Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation) is a Chinese state-owned automotive design and manufacturing company headquartered in Shanghai, with multinational operations.

I like those of the thirties myself.

In my little collection of stuff, a few items of which came from someone who worked at the MG factory, is a lump of multi layered paint from the edge of a bench in which you can see all the different colours like the rings of a tree. Part of a wooden pattern for a starter motor (?) and a small wooden rear quarter of a scale model car.

I opened an exhibit when I was younger in a museum here in the UK but haven't been to any events since.

My mom wants an MG B, I'm sure I'll be tracking one down eventually. If only I had convinced her to buy that new Subaru with a manual.

Can you find me an RV8?

Most early MG's were Morris based then slowly they gained their own designs. The thirties cars are pretty little things but after the war they started getting a little ugly to my eyes. Postwar they became part of BMC;

I've seen enough rotten MG's. I know someone who used to do bodywork and has three MG Midgets one that he uses another he'll repair eventually and another that is getting near to Flintstones mode that isn't worth repairing. There used to be a turd brown rubber bumper MGB in that yard that when you kicked it rust would shower all over the ground. Not one panel any good on it at all!

My uncle has a 1967 MG B. It's in excellent shape and he drives it about 4 days a week. He will even drive it to work on occasion.
