Women leaders.

Time for war mongering men to step aside and let problem solvers take the reigns. Matriarchy time. 8)

Of course he does. If hostile extraterrestrials were attacking the earth, trump would have higher TV ratings.

We haven't exactly had a good track record as regards our woman leaders here in the UK but on the whole I would agree with you.

I mean that so many are fixated on trump, nothing else would take their attention away from him. Mainly because the media would mostly cover it a way that put trump in the spotlight of it.

Margaret Thatcher had many of the characteristics of a typical, warmongering male....

Angela Merkel has that male competitiveness, too. But she is sensible.

South Korea:
• President
Moon Jae-in - male
• Prime Minister
Chung Sye-kyun - male
• Speaker of the National Assembly
Moon Hee-sang - male
• Chief Justice
Kim Myeong-soo - male
• President of the Constitutional Court
Yoo Nam-seok - male

There may be some correlation between female leaders and more effective covid responses - but I don't believe in direct causation, rather common source - maybe e.g. cultures more ready to adapt to new situations.

South Korea had a MERS outbreak that killed 38 people in 2015. Just the right timing to be prepared in 2019.

They had a "wake up call."

I agree that MERS gave S. Korea opportunity to learn how to manage epidemic outbreaks and they have learned their lesson.

^another big difference is that South Korea and neighbouring countries are all very much collectivist cultures where as Americans are much more individualistic every man for himself types. When cohesive societies are asked to do something to benefit everyone, they do it. When Americans are asked they rage against the machine with a classic “f**k you, I won’t do what you tell me,” which in most normal times is a reasonable response.. but not when you’re being asked to act as one in order to mitigate a viral pandemic.

Yes, after seeing how exhausted our first responders are you would think we would give them a break and do our best to stay out of hospitals so they could recover from all that work.

Women who become leaders often have bigger balls than their male counterparts. Not easy breaking glass ceilings.
