Hi, I’m Sky and I’m in my 20s and dealing with an issue which I assume is related to Aspergers and likely anxiety which is something I’ve suffered from for a long long time.

This particular issue is fairly recent though and it’s really getting to me now. A few months back I woke up early feeling really hot and my head was swimming. I couldn’t sit up and I felt sick. I had to stay laying down for about two hours and then gradually as the day went by it recovered. After that my head was ok, until the start of last month. Now every day I seem to have a dizzy sort of lightheaded sensation which comes and goes, usually worse in the morning, not too bad in the afternoon and then starts to feel odd again into the night.
It’s a mixture of dizzy/lightheaded, almost feeling like motion sickness and a headache which feels like tightness/pressure which is usually in my forehead but can be at the back and sides of my head as well.
It’s super annoying because this alone causes me to feel anxious and worry but also when I’m out now I can hardly stand to travel in the car for more than ten minutes because it makes me feel so rough. And when I’m out walking at times I feel like I might lose balance and fall. A part of me is worried that it might be a brain tumour. My mum had one and as I fell and hit my head hard several years ago at the back I do worry it might be related to that. But at the moment doctors aren’t seeing us where I am so not really sure what to do.

Does anyone else suffer from this? Or do you think it might be more serious?

Thanks, Sky.

Are you taking any types of medications at all?

I was thinking it could be side effects from different meds, but I guess not. Sorry I don't know.

It could be either a blood pressure problem (high or low) or blood sugars being abnormal. Have you made any changes to your diet recently?

Have you tried ringing the doctors for an appointment?

The receptionists often ask for brief symtoms, or you could describe the briefly if they don't.

Perhaps you can talk to a doctor on the phone (or get someone to talk for you). I am sure if they think it is serious (i.e. urgent) enough they will see you.

It is probably nothing serious - as has been mentioned, blood pressure or blood sugar BUT it could be something more serious starting so should be checked out as soon as you can.

It sounds like you should try to get the doctor to see you. I don't think they would just have you wait with symptoms like these.

Yes, talk to your doctor.

My friend has had labyrinthitis in the past. It sounds a bit like that.

Doctors aren't seeing people face-to-face, but will talk to you over the phone.

Call the hospital or your health insurance and ask to speak to the advice nurse. That's how we get medical advice without seeing a doctor in the U.S. anyways. Not sure where you are.

Here in the UK you can buy blood pressure monitors for around £30.
