Covid-19 (Corona virus) health tips
Hi Everyone!
I usually only visit here about once a month, early in the month, but just thought I'd pass this info on now, because we all need to keep safe from Covid-19.
According to my research, to fight Covid-19 we should be taking vitamins C and D, and Zinc supplements, also. I've been taking health supplements for some years now, and they have reduced my getting colds and flu. Several years ago I learned that the B complex vitamins are good for stabilizing moods, and after using it a while, I found it actually does work, at least for me. I am a chronic lifelong depressive, and now my mood level has finally stabilized into the normal range. I know it's the B complex doing it, because I ran out of it a few times, and started getting moody and depressed again, but started to feel better once I started taking B complex again. I recently added an Elderberry/Zinc capsule to my supplements, as both Elderberry extracts and Zinc are good at boosting your immune system. Another good immune booster is Turmeric (Curcumin) capsules. They are also good at relieving pain, including arthritis pain. I have two bad knees, a bad back, and several other bad joints, and the turmeric capsules do help me.
Additional research into Covid-19 says that sunlight and the UV rays that are part of it are good at killing Covid-19. This should not be a surprise, as UV light has been used for some years now to kill germs. Another germ killer is ozone, which is what causes that fresh smell after a thunderstorm. Ozone has been used to kill germs including in swimming pools for years now. Well, guess what! You can do what I recently did. Buy a little machine that is an ionizer (ozone generator) and also has a UV light in it, and a fan to help push the room air thru the device. There are a number of models out there, for different sized spaces, and different prices and sometimes different features. They are usually very easy to use. You just have to remember not to stay in the room while it's running, as too much direct exposure to ozone and UV light can be harmful. What you do is set the machine running for a little while, and leave the room for that period of time. You don't really need to run the machine much, and if you get a small one you can move it to other parts of your home, so that you can treat your whole place. I've been keeping my unit in the open kitchen/living room area of my apartment. I wall off my home office/hall from the living room with a full-length decorative shower curtain for climate control and privacy, and this seems to keep most of the ozone from coming into my home office too strong while the unit is running. My hall is oversized and equipped with both a phone jack, and cable port, so it's the perfect place for a home office. Anyway, about 2 or 3 times a week I run the ozone and UV generator on the lowest power setting for 20 or 30 minutes, and that seems to work well for me. Eventually, I'll carry it to the bedroom and run it in there for a little while, but I spend most of my time in my home office, bathroom, and the kitchen/living room area.
I have to be concerned about Covid-19 because I am over 60 and have a number of chronic health issues, but I feel that I am doing a pretty good job of protecting myself with the measures I've taken. It occurred to me tho, that there are still a lot of people out there who may be unaware of some of the ways to protect against getting sick, so I decided to share my tips here on WP. Please pass this info onto other people you know.
Keep well, all of you!
