Are you tired of this virus?
I am getting sick and tired of hearing about this virus. I'm not saying that this virus is a hoax. This virus is real and people have died from it. They keep talking about how cases are rising in the United States and that we are going to have to shut down again. There is debate on whether schools should open back up in the fall or not. Yes, this virus is something that we should take precautions about, but we can't keep wearing masks, constantly sanitizing everything, and social distancing forever. Some experts are suggesting that we are going to be dealing with this virus until at least 2022. I think that that is crazy. The number of actual deaths of this virus are questionable because I have heard that hospitals get more money for declaring any cause of death as covid. They say that over 130,000 Americans have died from this virus. With a country of 330 million, 130,000 is less than 1% of the US population. There are currently 4 million confirmed cases of the virus in the United States. That is still less than 1% of the country's population. There have been more recoveries than deaths globally. The people who have died from this virus were mostly elderly and those with other underlying health problems. They were more than likely close to death anyway. I feel like that we have been given so much misinformation. Nobody knows where exactly this virus originated from or what the cause of it is. There are so many theories out there that you don't know what to believe. I understand having to wear a mask, but I don't think that the country needs to shut down again even as cases continue to rise.
According to statistics, about 80% of people actually get the virus with little to no symptoms. Thousands and thousands of people have survived it. Yes some young, healthy people have died from it, but it is quite rare if you look at it from a statistic point of view. My brother knows a young, healthy person who cut herself, caught sepsis and died from it in hospital. So most people have as much chance dying from COVID as they have dying from other deadly diseases: very little. So I don't see why the whole world should shut down and generate a horrific recession that will also kill thousands of people. Now everybody's got to live in fear of losing their jobs and the government will get into huge debt paying out unemployment payment for millions of people.
I just think that if everybody just used their common sense, this virus would be able to be controlled. Forcing people to stay cocooned inside their homes and taking away their freedom and social lives and jobs is only going to kill more people in the long term because nobody will come into contact with any viruses, and coming into contact with viruses that you're already immune to is a healthy way to keep your immune system going. So when they finally find a vaccine for this COVID, everybody will be coming down with flus, colds, chest infections, stomach flus and more. There aren't cures for all of those except flu jab (which doesn't work for all types of flu), and lots of vulnerable people will die.
So, there you have it. It is not ''saving lives'', it is pure controlment. China is a communist country and it seems that everywhere else is becoming communist too.

Yes I am. I stopped reading about it and watching the news about it and I even stopped watching Dr. Phil because I got tired of hearing about it.

One thing's certain: I'm very bored. I want another massive change just as big.
Still exercising patience by not breaking the law related to quarantine and curfew.
And still exercising a slow and painful way of restraint, by stretching my time perception much slower than wishing them all away.
But do I feel misery for far? Nah. At worst it's just inconvenient.
But I'm too used to all the inconveniences of life -- doesn't mean I don't get annoyed and vent about it.
The rest? Number of victims, deaths, lost of livelihood, etc?
I'm too used to it. Because it still happens in seasons -- virus or no virus -- it'll always be a 'normal posibility' for me.
Displacement and discrimination for whatever reasons? I'm so done with that long time ago.
Politics and economics relevant to the pandemic? It's as chaotic and polarized as ever.

Tired of the secrecy behind it, the media lies. The delay in lock down, preventing it sooner, people that boycotted the social distancing, so they spread it and debunked the efforts that others made, by following social distancing procedures, so not only did it continue to spread but people were selfish, didn't think of the repercussions and it made things worse for doctors and nurses too, whom were already over worked and putting themselves at risk too.
Still life goes on.
I'm pretty sure that the point is that protecting the vulnerable ones is considered to be the morally right thing to do.
Another point is that if the virus is allowed to spread, it'll be easier for it to mutate in to something that spreads more easily and/or is deadlier, even to healthy people.
The US population is 330 million, or so.
One percent of that would be...3.3 million.
So if there are now 4 million cases then that is well ABOVE one percent.
In fact I was going to post a thread a few days ago how "we have just reached one percent of our population", but in matter of days the figure streaked so far beyond 3.3 million that that was instantly old news.
To put it another way: the US lost 400 thousand men in WWII. Which works out to about 100 thousand a year per each of the four years we were in the War. The US population in the early Forties was about half of what it is now. So that would be equivalent to the US having 200 thousand killed in a war in one year today.
We are only seven months into the crises and we have 140 thousand deaths. So by years end its going to be easily equal to 200K deaths in the US.
I don't think I can live like this any more. Being tracked down like this then being forced to self-isolate for two weeks if someone you've been in the same room with has tested positive for COVID. So you go into a restaurant, you're forced to give them your name and number, and if one person from the restaurant shows symptoms of COVID then you will be tracked down, forced to isolate for 14 days, not only you but everyone you've been in contact with since you went to the restaurant, such as everyone you work with and all their families and so forth. That is no life. It's not even worth going out and doing anything any more. I want to meet up at a restaurant with a couple of friends next week, but I don't think I will if I have to give out my name and number just to be tracked down.
And what's it all for? Oh, some virus that 80% of people show little to no symptoms of and recover from. Is it a flesh-eating plague that's killing millions of people of all ages? No.
It's all a conspiracy. Yes, it is. The government of every country got together and agreed to this. They wanted to do a clean up of the population; kill off the elderly and the physically vulnerable, and make all the healthy adults live under restricted control and all the children miss out on proper education, and make out that they're caring by claiming that they're going through all this to save lives, when it's actually doing anything but saving lives. Some say that they will never find a vaccine, and that they are going to make humans live like this forever and become communist countries just like China, so that people can die before they get old, and people with illnesses like cancer can die off too.
So maybe I did die from COVID and have gone to hell, because from now on this world is purely hell. No freedom. No parties. No hugs. Being tracked down. It feels like Big Brother.
What's next? Why don't they just build huge prison camps for everyone and make us all slog our lives away miserably forever?

Well that is just the thing sanitizing and wearing masks may be around for a while. Also the deaths alone aren't the issue the problem is also hospitals getting over-loaded with cases, medical professinals not being provided proper equipment and stuff like that. Even if its not a super large population of people dying hospitals are still getting overloaded, medical professionals are running out of proper protective equipment then with all the corona or possible corona cases that also cuts down on resources for other medical problems that could need attention.
And almost seems the misinformation is intentional, I mean just go to the bbc and look at U.S/canada news, they seem to have a more objective perspective with facts than all the U.S based news I have looked at. Hell for that matter look at Aljazeera, they have really good investigative journalism but a lot of people don't like them because their coverage of the Israel and Palestine conflict that shows that Israel is not totally in the right with what they are doing and the name sounds middle eastern.

I sure am!
Like many, I wish places of enjoyment (such as movie theaters, public libraries, etc.) would reopen, but with the guidelines in place.
Even worse are the protests still happening in Portland which has put Portland on the national map.

Oh yes I'm tired of hearing about it too. And there's little logic in what has reopened and what stays closed - our museums, libraries, fetes and bazaars, etc are still closed for now. Most other businesses are all open again but our country depends a lot on tourism which has now been destroyed at least for the time being as B&B's etc are only open for business reasons not holiday jaunts. It's dumb and makes little to no sense.

Like someone else said, it's something we'll have to get used to, maybe for years to come.
They neither had a treatment nor vaccine - but then again nor do we at present.
We also know it is a virus - they had no idea back then.
So I am saying we are armed with more information.
I guess they had to get herd immunity.
I don't think this will last 3 years - between 1 and 2.
