This is an old long name for a type of music. It has largely been replaced by the shorter "rock". It is properly written "rock-'n'-roll" but one or both of the apostrophes are often left out.

It is just that I have seen "rock-'n-roll" and "rock-n'-roll" written. People are uncertain about where to put an apostrophe. The answer is that there are supposed to be two apostrophes one before and one after the "n".

It's been a long time since I rocknrolled, but ...Rocknroll is here to stay...I dig rocknroll, put another dime in the jukebox baby...any old way you use it -its got a backbeat-you cant loose it, and I dig that old time rocknroll...I have a rocknroll heart, and wanna get lost in rocknroll, and its only rocknroll but I like it, and were gonna rock around the clock tonight...but what can a poor boy do...but play in a rocknroll band? and in this sleepy London town theres just no place for street fighting man...Are,oh, see, kay, in the USA!...

Yes, the term "rock-n-roll" seems to be nearing extinction. Nowadays it is called "rock".
