its impossible to get a job

theres too much competition

the market is saturated

2000 people apply for the same job and only 5 of them gets hired.

employers value NTness/extroversion/ability to fit in more than actual ability to work/skill

Thanks to the pandemic, you might as well just buy a lottery ticket instead of applying for a job.

Well yes but now it is just mayhem to the point where you have almost the same chances of winning the lottery. So you might as well just buy a lottery ticket.

Working for yourself is always a good option. There are businesses that don't need much capital to start up and can be run from home. The main factor here is that we who are on ther spectrum aren't good at marketing ourselves and our skills. But it can be learned.

I hear ya; I didn't get my first official job 'till I was 21, and I had to work in that place as an unpaid trainee for half a year before I got the job. Before that I only had unpaid trainee's positions. I have an actual job now though, so it's not impossible even for us on the spectrum. The job is boring, but it pays the bills.

But hey, lots of people are unemployed now due to the pandemic, so no need to feel too bad about it.

Are there jobs in your area that people won’t do? Apply for those.

Here, I’d say it’s next to impossible to get certain types of jobs.. like service/hospitality, or maybe office jobs.

BUT, there are plenty of vacancies in construction (as always), and in farm labour - so many seasonal migrant workers didn’t come, and local seniors from certain ethnic communities that normally pick berries couldn’t be transported to the fields by the bus load, so farmers all had signs up pleading for anyone to come pick blueberries, or head several hundred kilometres out of town to regions full of fruit orchards to harvest crops. Amazon is also constantly advertising seeking warehouse workers because their business is Booming right now. Major grocery stores, too.

Are there jobs in your area that are the type of work that’s “beneath,” locals that migrant workers and immigrants are no longer fulfilling? Perhaps you could find work in one of those fields? (Possibly literally a field.)

some things that appear possible, are not possible.

some things that appear impossible, are just extremely difficult.

every situation is changing.

the economy is rapidly changing.

numerous jobs have made my worthless corpse redundant.

zero job skills.

autistic, six out of ten personality disorders officially diagnosed

my most recent paying job was 2016 june. fired.

2018 summer internship unpaid, maintenance engineering intern. job ended early. (not fired).

just got three job offers two weeks ago. all of a sudden.

maybe they will make my worthless corpse redundant.

but it hasn't happened yet.

 just another brick in the wall

my "life" was over a long time ago

puberty
bullying
SAT in seventh grade
structural engineering flunked
equal employment opportunity commission
autism

and at that time, i thought my "life" was then over.

wrong.

my "life" was over a long time before it
